Independent Education Evaluation
-This method of evaluation involves a person you have specifically chosen who is not employed by the school district. You may request that the district pay for the outside source if you disagree with the initial evaluation.
-If the district does not want to pay, they may call a due process hearing.
-If the district agrees to pay, they must provide you with information about where to obtain a new evaluation. Qualifications and criteria of the new evaluator must match the initial evaluator used by the district
-If due process finds a new evaluation appropriate, the district pays. If they do not, you will be required to pay for the new evaluation
-Results from a privately paid independent education evaluation must be considered for instructional decisions for your child in regards to FAPE. Results must be used in a due process hearing
